Catching up..

A quick catch up with an old acquaintance prompted me to write this post.We were discussing about life,how things have changed,mistakes,choices,if we would have done things differently.About just not giving a damn.Distorted perceptions.Memories of people all around being short.She declared she was living life on autopilot. That is a first..I wondered why she worded it that way.Whatever happenend to seizing the day,living it up,taking responsibility for all of one's behaviour.Isnt it all about we being the masters of our own fate.A friend once told me,if one is miserable,its their own fault.It is upto every person to actively amend or ameliorate their happiness or sadness.I tend to agree with the view.However circumstances sometimes stand in the way of our amending or improvising situations and happiness.Besides that, each one is probably capable of influencing thier overall contentment and maximising satisfaction and peace in their lives.So living life on autopiltot. Doesnt it essentially mean going with the flow,dealing with everything dealt out and not really having any sort of control on destined events..Its true that without the lows one cannot value and appreciate the highs.A life without expectation is no life at all.But with expectation, there is disappointment.I wonder if she is right after all...
